Welcome to Crimson Coalition
Crimson Coalition is a group of current and past sex workers who have worked over the last 4 years to improve the rights and welfare of sex workers in Queensland. Crimson Coalition is no longer formally meeting and is currently dormant.
Crimson Coalition members were heavily involved in the development of the new state-wide organisation funded by Queensland Health to replace SQWISI (Self Health for Queensland Workers in the Sex Industry).
The new group, RESPECT INC, has been formed and is in it's second year of operation.
May 2012: Crimson Coalition continues our urgent appeal for sex workers
to help one of us fight for our rights
Karlaa, also known as 'GK', has lost an important Anti-discrimination Case against a motel in Moranbah that refused her accommodation on the grounds that she was a legal sex worker. This case creates a precedent now for licensed motels in Queensland to discriminate against touring sex workers from all over Australia. Karlaa has lodged an appeal but this will cost a lot of money for lawyers fees. The minimum quote is $12000. The sex workers organisations Respect Inc and Crimson Coalition both support this case and urge sex workers to donate.
To read more about this case go to Karlaa's Facebook Page
All funds will be paid to Karlaa's barrister's trust account; any funds above the $12000 quote will be donated to Respect Inc
