Crimson Coalition
South Queensland, Australia
Crimson Coalition is a network of sex workers in the South of Queensland (mostly Brisbane and the Gold Coast) who have been meeting since June 2004.
Initially called SSPAN (Sexual Service Providers' Advocacy Network), we changed our name in 2007 to Crimson Coalition. The name was chosen as a tribute to Scarlet Alliance, the Australian sex workers' association, of which we are a member.
After the closure of SQWISI (Self-Health for Queensland Workers in the Sex Industry) in 2007 we were forced to become more active in order to have a role informing future State Government funded sex worker support services and be involved in law reform.
Crimson Coalition is now involved in developing an information, education and advocacy service to be funded by Queensland Health. To do this we are working with USNQ (United Sex Workers, North Queensland) to create a new state-wide sex workers' organisation to be called RESPECT Inc..
Want to become a member of the new state wide group? JOIN CRIMSON COALITION!
For the first year, all members of Crimson Coalition can be members of RESPECT INC. for free!
